This is the time of year when the desert begins to bloom. Radiant purples, pinks, yellows cover the desert in glorious color. I had just enough desert blooms fabric to create this quilt full of color and sunshine. Reminds of the years we spent in AZ. Depending upon winter rainfall, the desert would bloom somewhere in the state.
The gold/orange border fabric is a hand dye called marblehead. Gradation of color ranges from cream thru yellows, thru oranges, a bit of red, and some sandstone mixed in. It is gorgeous in its own right, making the back of the quilt totally usable and reversible.
